This week we helped organize a kitchen pantry for a busy mom on the go. Here are some easy steps to help you tackle your own pantry:
Step One: Go on and empty out your pantry. Organize everything into three piles: keep, toss & donate. In doing so, be honest. If it has been there for more than a year, it needs to be tossed or donated.
Step Two: Assign each shelf a specific category. Organize what you want to keep into subcategories (i.e. snacks, grains, baking, spices, tupperware, ect.)
Step Three: Invest in some good storage. This makes all of the difference! Research some products that will help you keep everything organized and easy to access. Bins, jars and baskets are ideal for any pantry. I always go for baskets and/or bins without any lids, that way items are easier to access. Make sure you label all containers so you know exactly what each one holds.
Step Four: Stick to it. Maintenance is the key. Make sure all users are aware of the system to ensure everyone follows the same steps. If you find the system is not working for you, change it up.
Step Five: Too overwhelmed? Give us a call and we can help you out!
